diet for those w/liver damage and/or shunts You folks have been wonderful in giving me web sites and other information regarding Emma's upcoming testing. Someone mentioned an all veggie kibble and a couple of things I can give as snacks. I am about an hour away from a store that would sell the veggie kibble, so until I can get there, what can I give my baby to eat. I was doing chicken, scrambled eggs and a special soft dog food the vet gave me, however that was before I started receiving the information on here that she should be on a no animal protein diet. Can she have applesauce or plain pasta? Rice/potatoes? I went through several pages on the diet nutrition page and couldn't find anything about this kind of diet. To be perfectly honest, I'm not functioning and am pretty pathetic---I'm just trying to take care of Emma and get through until I know more. If anyone is willing to post a diet or link to one, I'd greatly appreciate it. I can't tell you how this has upset me---I'm trying not to let Emma see. She's sleeping a lot, so I sleep with her to pass the time. Thank you all Sammer |
There can be exceptions to the veggie only diet like egg, possibly whitefish and poultry fat (like that used in Royal Canin LS 14). What did your vet give you? L/D canned? |
There is some wonderful information about liver friendly food here: Liver | B-Naturals.Com Newsletter Just remember to keep the fresh foods to less than 20% of her diet or you will have to add supplements. |
This LINK will get you to a page that has some information about dietary nutrition and supplements. About half way down. Once you reach the end of this article (Heart Disease is the next article) , their are many other links that have beneficial info that might be able to help you. Best of luck |
