Runny Stool My little dog's stools have turned runny over the last 36 hours. She had been eating science diet until last week. She walked away from her bowl with her nose turned up. I thought it was just because she wanted something off my plate (home-made bread that smelled great!). But this wasn't the case. She didn't want anything. Finally, she settled on Cesear's Senior soft food. She eats about 1/4 of a can in the morning and 1/2 a can at night. This has been the case for about 10 days now. I noticed the soft stool last night, but thought nothing of it. Then tonight, she normally watches the news with me and couldn't get comfortable. She tummy was make horrible gassy sounds. It's raining out so she wouldn't think of going out side, but instead she went into her "room" and did her business. It was really runny. What can I do for her? I know she's miserable. If she were one of my kids, she'd go on a clear liquid diet until things started to firm up but I'm not sure if this the right thing for my yorkie. Please help! |
Poor baby. When one of my girls gets the yucky tummy I with hold food until the next day then start feeding white rice with boiled chicken no skin, fat or bones. for 2 days then slowly start adding her regular food to it until she is on her regular food completely. The important thing is if you do not see an improvement in a day of feeding the rice you need to seek vet care. Mighty Dog my not agree with her tummy. |
I don't know where i got mighty dog from But I meant ceasers. Sorry |
I just went through this with Buddy. I was told canned pumpkin would help his stools and it did. It's cheap and in the cooking section of you local food store. It's all natural and just plain pumpkin in a can. I gave it to him twice a day and it cleared up. You may also want to check out a better food. Science Diet is filled with filler's and has little nutrition for a Yorkie. Also cooked rice and boiled chicken will also aid in firming up his stools and it's nutrious as well. |
Yes my poor lil Reese had a runny stool this morning, and she threw up a little the night before. I don't know if she is sick or what, but it has really been worrying me. I also feed her science diet, and bil jacs chicken liver treats. what is a good puppy food for her? :hearts-xx:aimeeyork Proud Mommy of Reese :aimeeyork:hearts-xx |
