anal gland info needed How do I tell the difference between an anal gland adenoma and an anal gland abscess? Is it the same? I'm sorry to sound stupid, but the net doesn't offer info on this topic. Any info is appreciated. I am freaking out. The vet said a 3mm tumor and the take home paper says anal adenoma. |
An abscess is a localized collection of purulent exudate(pus) within a circumscribed area. An adenoma is a benign tumor in which the cells form recognizable glandular structures. The operative word here is benign, which means not recurring and NONmalignant. Also, usually with a favorable chance of recovery. All good things. So don't freak out. You are doing everything in your power right now for your furbaby. I thought that this link might be able to give you a little more info. Will research for others. Hang in there! LINK |

update Romeo ended up with a tumor in his anus. It was removed and he was neutered. The tumor was benign and he is at home recovering. |
