Heart - breath problem? Please help!!!!!! 3 or 4 hours ago..I noticed that Gucci is having something like fast breathing...or fast heartbeat.. I dont know what this thing is exaclty... She is awake sitting or on the floor.. I and I see her body have 3 or 4 "vibrations" per second... It looks like her heart is beating fast and BIG. I called the vet tight now and he said that probably she is like that because she got tired ot played a lot... but I still dont feel comoftable yet. Tomorrow I will take her to him because she will have her fisrt shot... she is 3.5 months old... Any ideas???? please help!!! Also it reminds me the way my previous dog died when he was really old (14 yrs old) and had a heart failure... thnank you! |
Is she wobbly? Is she dehydrated (gums should be pink)? If this happened after playing, then give some Nutrical, honey, or Karo right away and force water. She could be hypoglycemic at this age. |
no!! she is in a good mood....she plays a a lot..she looks happy... Her ears went down yesterday for some reason.... The only thing is these spasms she has aall over her body...... |
Is there an er vet you could call? Does it look like she is having seizures? I hope she is ok and can get into a vet ASAP. |

ok...I just came back from a 24 hour pet hospital.... They told me her heart is ok... They said there is something wrong with her stomach and it is causing her these spasm... She has something called like "tachypnya" .. I am Greek and I dont know the exact translation in English.... Tomorrow we are going to our vet HOPEFULLY for her first shots... THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT AGAIN!! Gucci says thanx as well.. ;) |
I'm glad you took her in. What do you do for her? If she's sick, you will want to hold off on any vaccinations. Will you take her to your own vet tomorrow? |
the vet said she should not eat or drink fir 12 hours. Tomorrow i will take her to my vet... she is breathing really fast though...I hope to do the shots... she is 3.5 months old.... |
Tachy=fast; Tachypnea = fast breathing. First and foremost, I would not get any shots whatsoever since this dog might be ill - that could be very dangerous. Tachypnea happens for some reason and it really needs to be checked further. If she was in stomach/digestion pain, then she may have been breathing fast due to pain. What do you mean by "spasm" though? I'm still not clear on that. |
