you. Thanks Porsha~ This ER vet was actually very nice compared to my last experience. I will keep yu updated. Sorry I missed you in chat last night. |
Thoughts sent to Buddha Kim... I've had tons of problems with my internet cable..and am just seeing this... I can't imagine how scary for you guys... Please keep us updated on Buddha.....We are sending special get well wishes your way! :) |
I don't know if you have ticks where you live but you should go over that baby with a fine tooth comb.My little girl named Murphy was fine one minute and she did the same thing her back legs got all wobbly and she was falling ..Naturally I panicked, called my vet and he said check her good and sure enough there was a tiny little tick on her . We removed it very carefully and gave her benadryl almost immediate response.....Just a thought |
You know I thought about ticks and I asked my daughter to check him while she was at the emergency vet.....but nothing. I also thought he might have been bit by a spider or something.... ANYWAY......GREAT NEWS....the bile acid test were negative so, althoug it doesn't completely rule out a liver shunt, he most likely does not have one which I am soooo relieved about. We have discontinued the meds which were expensive but it was a precaution we had to take until the tests came back. They said to just watch him for a recurrence and hopefully it was a "one time incident" and he will be fine now..... I just wish I knew what caused it but.....we may never know. I am home from Santa Barbara and my other babies missed me and Ava!!! I am so happy to be home....thanks again for all your support...you are just great!!!! :D |
Glad that everything came back negative and you guys are back home. I always feel so darn helpless when their sick its so frustrating!!! Verena :aimeeyork |
It is good the test came back negative, but I'm sorry you came home with no cause of the illness. By the way, home is a good place to be, isn't it? :) |
I'm sending best wishes for you and Buddha :) I had quite a scare with my kitten the past two months. Like Buddha she were vomiting and wobbly. The vet did hours of research trying to figure out what happened but couldn't find ANYTHING that seemed to fit . We ended up doing 2 blood transfusions. She was hospitalized for about a week. They did bloodwork everyday along with antibiotics and the 2 transfusions. The vet was SOOOOOOOOOOO kind. My total bill was $275 including initial exams, long hospital stay, nightly monitoring, blood work ups everyday and even a special set of tests that got sent to this big place to see if the Dr. wasn't seeing something in his work-ups. I also did follow up tests for 3 weeks for $10 each follow up blood test(no visit charge). SORRY ... I just felt I had to give my vet his CONGRATS for being so kind!!!!! |

I just saw this - the plus of missing a thread, if there is good news you know within minutes. You must have been a nervous wreck. I am happy to hear the bile tests were negative and you are back home. Hopefully, it was just a one time thing like you said. |
I am happy to hear that Buddha is doing much better! |
Kim, I'm so glad your ordeal is over. Poor sweet little Buddha! Hope it was just a one time thing and it never happens again! |
Yay!!!!! I am so glad the little man is off meds and feeling better! You and I talked in chat and having a sick baby and NOT knowing what is wrong is so hard ;( I'm glad you are home and everyone is well ;) |
