Anyone deal with a strain from yorkie jumping to hard? Maggie is 5 months old and "fell" or "jumped" trying to get at something interesting on our coffee table. I took her to the emergency vet hospital and after xrays, she doesn't have a broken bone or popped hip, just a bad sprain or muscle tear. They gave me anti-inflamitory meds and said to keep her "calm" for 5-7 days off the leg (she is running on 3, even up and down stairs if we forget to gate it!) Any advice would be welcomed. Anyone else have a sprained leg? |
No sprains here, but you might consider an xpen or a crate when you can't keep her with you. I am sorry! That has to be really difficult. :( |
My Tarra jumped off the couch and shattered her elbow, after surgery I had to crate her for 9 weeks, it was hard, I don't crate any of mine, but it saved her from limping the rest of her life, I would get a xpen or something to confind her for a week, it will be rougher on you than her.:( |
