10 week old puppy limping My 10 week old puppy jumped of my girlfriends chest while she was sitting down. He whined when he landed and now is limping. He holds his left front leg up at times but tries to walk on it. He is eating fine and drinking and playful but he still favors his left front leg. Its been only under an hour. I touched his leg and applied pressure he doesn't cry or anything. Any ideas? My girlfriend and I are really worried. He's our first puppy. Thank you for your time. |
Personally, I would take him to a vet whenever possible. Sounds like it is just fractured, but you never know. They might need to put in a cast... I'm sure someone else will know more.:thumbup: |
quincy did this just the other day He jumped off of a chair YELPED when he landed and then limped all over I picked him up pulled, twisted and bent the leg still no wimper or whine after about an hour still limped but would play with toys next morning good as new no problems. |
You need to take him to the vet to have his leg checked tomorrow if he's still limping. |
Yes, if he is still limping in the morning he needs to see the vet. In the future you need to make sure that he does not jump like that EVER. There are so many stories of breaks to their tiny little bones. You have to be very careful when it comes to owning a yorkie. BTW welcome to YT! Hope you stick around and maybe share a few pictures and plus you can gain tons of knowledge about owning one of these little guys. ;) |
Thank you for the replies and for the warm welcoming. Some good news, Chewie is walking better now. I think he going to be ok. I feel so relieve but I'll keep an eye on him in the morning. I won't let him jump like that again. It was a accident the first time. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME! and I will post pics soon. |
Actually he walking and running but maybe I'm being paranoid but he looks like he walking and running funny. |
I am glad he seems ok, but you never know? So why not just make a quick trip to the vet just to ease your mind:D |
Glad to hear he is doing better If in doubt can't hurt to bring him to the vet. Better to be safe than sorry. |
