Throwing up white foam! Opinions needed! My 4 1/2 month old yorkie, Riley, has thrown up white foam in the mornings on two different occasions. He did it on Sunday and again this morning. It's not a large amount, and it doesn't contain any food, but of course I'm worried. He seems fine other than that and has been acting normally. (Eating, playing, etc.) I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and is there anything I should be looking for? I searched the threads before posting and found some old ones that mentioned dogs doing this if they hadn't eaten, but Riley always has access to food, so I can't see that being a problem. I would love any information anybody can give me. He weighed 3 lbs. last time he went to the vet. Thanks for everyone's time.:) |
You may want to call your vet. He / she may be able to help you over the phone. Even if you have to bring him in, it may be worth the peace of mind. Just a thought. |
It still could be he has an empty tummy. Are you pretty sure he is eating frequently enough. Sometimes even though they have food available if they are pick eaters they don't eat enough and that can cause them to throw up foamy bile. If you think he is eating often enough I would have the vet check him out. |
Thanks for the help I spoke to the vet's office and they said although it isn't normal for him to be throwing up, the fact that he seems to be acting normally otherwise is a good sign. They did recommend that if it continues I go ahead and bring him in. |
