Wrotten tooth...teeth missing...what to do My yorkie baby Barkley is 7 years old, going on 8 in August. Lately I've noticed when he gets excited he gets really bad breath...I never gave it a thought as to a health issue until today...It popped into my head that maybe he has bad breath due to a bad tooth issue, which he has never had before. He has normal vet visits and has never had a tooth problem, although he has had some plaque. When I looked in his mouth today I was shocked...on the left side he has a little wrotted out stubby tooth that is very loose and it looks like maybe another tooth is missing altogether...and I'm not positive but it looks like he may be missing a tooth on the right side as well. He has never behaved as if his mouth was bothering him and still eats his dry food with gusto.....I feel I have neglected my normally spoiled baby and am not sure what to do.....any advice???? |
Welcome to YorkieTalk :) Something similar happened to my Yorkie also. It sounds like periodontal disease. He will need oral surgery and a dental most likely. |
Job for the dentist You will be surprised how many spare teeth these little people have Make sure your dogs have plenty of bones, it scrapes the teeth clean and keeps them strong Bone = dog tooth brush |
