Praying for him to get better, I know Dr. Tobias and she is the best on Liver shunt, but I do know when they talk about walking in circles it is walking the outer edge of the room in circles, and they don't stop for awhile, its like they are on a mission, & you can't stop them. I wish you well, I went through liver shunt a long time ago and its horrible, it took me years before I would even consider getting another yorkie, but look at me now, I have a zoo:D |
sending prayers and a quick recovery!:) |

I'm sorry about your pup. :( Experience or not, something isn't right and blood work should've been done. LS does need to be ruled out. If LS is ruled out (not just by looking at the pup but by blood work) and the pup isn't better, he needs to see an internist. |
Hoping and praying for a quick and full recovery... |
1 Attachment(s) I am praying for little Tucker, you must be beside yourself with worry. I hope he had blood tests to rule out liver shunt like Ellie May mentioned. |
Google Atlanto Axial Subluxation...ATLANTO AXIAL INSTABILITY My prayers are with you ... I hope this is nothing serious but my baby has AAI/ AAS and one of his symptoms were walking in circles and the very first thing they thought was LIVER SHUNT and then that was ruled out.. If anything get digital X rays of the neck... However I could be way off because this normally does not show up untill the pup is 6 months old .. Please understand I am not trying to scare you just want you to have information is all.... Again my prayers are with you HUGS Vicki And The Barber Bunch |
Lots of prayers for Tucker get well soon :hands: |
How is Tucker today?? Yes, pay attn to what Bleu Boy's mom said - I was thinking the same thing when I read this. |
Poor Tucker. Checking for an update today. |
Hoping Tucker is feeling better. I think I would get a second opinion even though your vet is really good. |
Praying for little Tucker. I hope he feels better soon. |
I agree with Vicki please check out AAI (Atlanoaxial Instability) GO to petplace.com and read about it there. I have seen AAI pups that are only 13 weeks old and it can be a congenital or aquired defect it is a defect of the cervical vertebra. It has many symptoms of LIver shunts and other problems and Hydrocephulas is usally another symptom of AAI.. I am also a very informed advocate of AAI where I am a parent of a pup that has it. His story can be read at Dog profile for Wheelie Boy Babybear® , a male Yorkshire Terrier please check this out and see if you have seen any of these symptoms with your pup. |
I will be praying for your little Tucker I hope he will get well and they can figure out what is wrong with him. I know how it is to have your pup sick, it's horrible :( |
Honey if you are in Knoxville, take little Tucker on to UT. They have an ER there, and this is an emergency. They are wonderful vets who will test for other things besides liver shunt. If it were my baby I\'d be there letting them do the tests needed to rule out liver shunt and find out what his problem is. I am praying for him. |
