Ear Problems I am new to post here. My yorkie is 5 years old, Molly. This past week I noticed Molly's ear was red and she was scratching it. I took her to the vet Wednesday afternoon and they gave her Conofite Lotion 1% drops, 4-6 in each ear, every 12 hours. The drops have no steriods as she has had a problem with them in past. My question, she started sneezing the second time I put the drops in her ears and has been sneezing every time now when I put the drops in her ears. I called the Vet Emergency last night and they did not seem concerned. I will take her back to her vet in the morning to get it checked out but am worried, of course, and wonder if any of you had ever experienced this with your babies? Thanks |
Well, she must be allergic, so I would make the vet switch meds. What is her diagnosis? |
Diagnosis The vet said she had yeast infection caused by allergies. She also told me to give her 1/8 tsp of children's benedril along with the drops and bring her back in two weeks. In addition to sneezing (three times) when I put the drops in her ear at 6:00 last night, she woke up at 1:00 this morning and was sneezing. She sneezed over and over several times and that is when I called the ER. I sat up with her a couple of hours and she seemed fine and was playing with her toy. I will not give her any drops tonight. |
Hmmm, we use Otomax for yeast infections but it contains a steroid. |
