Help! Could someone respond immediately. I called Emergency Pet Care. They told me to give him half of a baby asprin, and take him to my vet in the morning. My four month old Yorkie, Tucker became very lethargic this afternoon. He yelps when we pick him up. The grandchildren came over and played with him yesterday. They may have hurt him in some way. He did fall from the chair while one of them was holding him. It didn't seem to bother him at the time. He ate food from my hand; also ate treats that I gave him. I'm so frightened. With all the awful things like liver shunt or collapsed trachea, there are other symptoms aren't there. Someone please help. He hasn't thrown up at all. Tucker's Mom |
Can you try to take him somewhere else...to a different vet? |
Sounds like he might have broke or hurt a bone... |
Help! They're all closed except for the emergency clinic. I'm going to call them again. |
Oh i see...try to put him in just a little carrier or cage so he isnt able to walk around..just in case he did break something. |
Help! The two worst things I've seen on Yorkie Talk are Liver Shunt, and collapsed trachea. Wouldn't he be throwing uo or coughing if he had either one of thjose? Instead, he eats when I feed him by hand, nad just yelps when we move him. |
Here Liver Shunt read that, I think it has something to do when he was dropped...But I could be wrong. He just needs to go to the er asap. Yorkshire Terrier Care |
My guess is he was injured by your grandchildren. He needs to go to the ER vet. |
Help! Would you believe he started playing with the cat a few minutes ago. I was getting dressed to take him to the emergency vet. Now he's playing with one of his toys. I can't believe it.! Did he just want to scare his Mommy to death.? Regardless, he will see his own vet first thing in the morning. Thanks for the immediate responses. I was really frightened. I'm still concerned, but not scared out of my wits anymore. I will keep an eye on him tonight, but he seems to be much better---almost back to normal. |
Maybe he's just sore from all of the handling and the fall. Just watch him close. |
I know that when Lola gets an upset tummy, she tends to whine and doesn't like being picked up. Maybe that could've been the problem?? I think it might also be a little sprain somewhere or something?? The vet will be able to figure it out. If I were you, I would just closely monitor my little one and if he starts acting like it again, I would take him to the pet emergency. Otherwise, probably tomorrow will be fine. Good luck ;) I hope it all works out (I'm sure it will thought ;)) |
