paw problem noticed swollen front centre pad very red looks to be full of fluid and angry. no vet here till tuesday worried it could be something nasty. He is licking it very often . Not sure what to do for the best help! |
it is VERY important that he stop licking it- this can make things much worse. maybe use something like a sock and use an elastic or something to keep it on until it can be seen by a vet. |
cheers, he seems to have stopped licking it but it is still red and swollen. I always thought that licking was a way of dogs cleaning and making it better, what is the story there? Thank you again |

You have to keep it VERY clean and get him to the vet. The feet pick up every single bacteria they can and get it infected so easily. You can try the sock and hook it on with bandages to try to keep it on that they sell at the pharmacy. Most wont keep it on though. :( |
Jimi"s paw :animal-pathank you for that, we live by the beach and i think he could have picked something up there. I am a new member and trying to get my head around the site, didn't think there would be such a place as this, thanks again. |
