Bald spot My female has a bald spot the size of a quarter, she is due to have her puppies in 2 weeks. I just noticed it yesterday and there is no new hair growing yet. Clean in the area. I also have puppies they like to play with her. I am not sure if she could have rubbed it on something, I dont see any flees and I give her a bath about every week. I do however think she has dry skin. What should I do or can it be something serious? Thanks for any help, Christina |
Where is the bald spot at? Copper has one too put his was caused by a reaction to the rabies vaccine. if the bald spot is near an injection site, her's could be the same thing. It is not uncommon for these little guys to have a reaction to the vaccines because there is a significant amount of toxcicity to them. If it is not at an injection site, then it could be a number of other things, I have seen yorkies that have temporarily lost hair where they have been scratched by something, Also ringworm will cause the hair to fall out, but it would look dry and a bit scaley. Hope that this helps some. |
Thank ou that does help, she did not get any shots there but it is clean and smooth, I will look up ringworm for dogs to see what it looks like, I hope it is nothing to worry about, If needed I will take herto the vet but I just wanted to see if it could be something bad. We all know how much vets are Thanks |
