One of my coworkers feeds Evo Red Meat small bites and she said its high in protein, and all the ingredients look good from what i can see! Also California Naturals looks good too (all these from Natura brands). I think im going to narrow down to one of their brands. Still a slow transition though right? I should still do the I/D with the new food slowly?? |

Gosh, I would hope it would be so easy as to just getting her off corn...but don't get your hopes up too high. Maybe, maybe not. But it's definitely worth trying to eliminate that ingredient just to see... Part of me would be tempted to do a sudden transition , but given how sensitive she now is, I'd probably do it slowly. And, I'd probably try give probiotic/digestive enzymes during the change, but you don't have to of course. |

We are going to try out Innova which has the following ingredients: Turkey, Chicken, Chicken Meal, Ground Barley, Ground Brown Rice, Potatoes, Natural Flavors, Ground White Rice, Chicken Fat, Herring, Apples, Carrots, Cottage Cheese, Sunflower Oil, Alfalfa Sprouts, Egg, Garlic, Taurine, Vitamins/Minerals, Viable Naturally Occurring Microorganisms If that still doesnt work after some time, Im going to try the grain-free formula too, but this has good grains from what I'm told, so we will give it a shot!! I'm going to try it while i have her on the meds for the next 5 days, and hopefully that will help too. If not, maybe turkey is the culprit b/c she has that now, but like you said, too early to rule out allergy to protein, lets start with the bad grains!! Thank you again!!! :):):):):) |
How is she doing? While grains could be irritating her, I am really thinking she is too young for food sensitivities still. Maybe she is just very sensitive. Probiotics may be helpful and maybe not. By the way, when an adult dog has loose stools for too long and nothing works to make things right, an intestinal biopsy is considered and then prednizone. |

I have just conquered the diarrhea thing with my 5 1/2 yr old Yorkie. Pumpkin......pure Pumpkin....not the pie filling. Got it at Lowes Food Store and I am not kidding you, it stopped 4 days of constant watery to projectile diarrhea within an hour and.....he's back to absolute normalcy today.....eating, not throwing up, normal poop. Please, give it a try. Someone wrote to me she has a small dog (mine is big 23lbs) hers is small, I think 4 lbs.....she gives hers 2 tsps. of pure Pumpkin. I gabe Mickey 2-3 Tbs. of the Pumpkin. And like I was told, you can't overdose on it either. I tried everything.....I do mean everything too....and nothing worked......until I did the Pumpkin thing.....and my fussy eater LOVES it too. I will give it to him daily forever! Please try it. It's in the section of the store that sells pie fillings. Good luck and God Bless you and your baby. |
