Exocrine Pancreatitic Insufficiency- EPI I need information on this for a fellow maltese owner so if you can post any information to help her on here that would be great |
is this pancreatitis? |
Does this person have specific questions? There are lots of articles with overviews on the internet. I don't have experience with it but Ellie is about to be tested. Marci, it isn't but I think a dog who has had pancreatitis is more likely to get it. It isn't a really common disease. |

We have a pet at my clinic who has this--he takes a powdered supplement, that gets sprinkled on his food everyday. Poor baby is also diabetic, but he is doing very well(BTW, he's a schnauzer). |

thanks as i thought it could lead to diabetes as i know getting pancreatitis can lead to this as well as the pancreas controls the insulin in the body - so sad :( |

there are 25 threads on this poor girl so maybe it was in one of the 25 threads but did not see it |
My lil' guy Deegan has EPI. I learned a tone (of which my vet never told me about) through this group... Cheaper alternative to Viokase, how to mix it with food, etc... k9-EPIGLOBAL : Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency Dogs |
