I bet your all getting sick of me but... I just now noticed that in the left eye where the white is, it looks like Stormy has a broken blood vessel. She has been hiding out under the bed most of the day in my daughters room as I have been running around busy today so I am not sure if she poked herself under there with a toy or what. There isn't anything else wrong, it is just like one corner/side of the eye, the other side of her eye is regular white. Anyone have this happen to their pup? I'm looking online and I see that with people it isn't nothing serious but not sure about a dog? Should I worry? I REALLY don't want to run to the vet again this week  |
Im no help, but don't feel like we would ever get tired of hearing about your baby. Hope someone has some advice.:) |
I just feel it is one thing after another and I probably sound like a bug asking all the time but I don't have anyone else to ask for and the first thing that pops in my head is go on yorkietalk and ask the lovely ladies :D I just saw another post around here with a similar problem. She vomited quite a few times the past few days, the antibiotic she was on said it has side effects of vomiting which she has done, none today that I found but yesterday she did a few times. |
Lacy had a broken blood vessel once. A couple years ago we were at a dog park and a boxer pinned her down and I think bit or scratched near her eye. Anyway, lluckily she was fine but had a broken blood vessel in the corner of her eye. It was red for a day or two and then got better. I just watched it to make sure it didn't get worse or that her eye didn't get infected and it was all gone within a few days. |
Don't ever feel like your questions are silly. I can't help you, but I'm sure someone on here can help you out. |
I agree that you should not ever feel bad abuot asking a question on here! that is what YT is all about ! I am unsure about the broken blood vessel, however if it is not bothering her, or her eyes are not runny then I believe it may be safe to wait until Monday, then call the Vet for advice. I hope your puppy is ok. :aimeeyork |
The problem is that you don't know what caused the broken blood vessel, and it may be more than just a broken blood vessel. It concerns me that she is hiding; this is sometimes an indicator of pain. Is she eating ok? The reason I monition this is Joey had an eye ulceration, that wasn't noticeable, except he wouldn't eat, and didn't want to be around us. When I looked at his eye it was a little squinty and looked blood shot in the corner of it, but nothing too bad. I called the vet, and he said that I should bring him in immediately. They did a stain, and there was a scratch on the cornea. I later learned that this causes a great deal of pain. He said it was good that I brought him in right away because a scratch can lead to an infection very easily, that could lead to blindness. The cure was very easy, just some prescription ointment. But if she isn't eating, or is acting funny, I would go to an emergency vet. Good luck to you, I hope it isn't serious. |
I'm no help, just hope Stormy gets better. This forum is for questions, answers...and some gossip too LOL, there is not such thing as too many questions, you can ask away, if we have the answer, we'll give them to you. Please keep us posted. |
we are all here to help each other with our babies |
She is scared of men, if I am not home she will usually hide under the bed because my fiancee is home  I think she may be a little constipated at the moment and feeling a little uncomfortable. I am going to go get her some canned pumkin and see if it helps her feel better. Thank you every1 sometimes I myself get sick of searching online what is wrong!! :p |
why dont you try calling your vet? A nice vet will talk to you on the fone, i would at least try... call them and if he is not available explain the problem and tell them that BEFORE you bring your yorkie in you want to speak with your vet. My father had a broken vessel on the eye after vomiting once, and the violent vomiting was the cause, it resolved on its own. It makes sense to think that the vomiting can be the cause, if it is nothing serious your vet should tell you over the fone not to worry about it... My vet always returns these types of calls, not only for me but for diferent clients that i happen to know ... Good luck and i hope you find the answer...... |
