Growth on TJ's Paw ....well, it's been over 10 days now since I first noticed the growth on the top of TJ's paw. We were at the Vet on 1/24 - TJ is on Baytril and an antihistamine. His paw is wrapped in gauze so he stops licking it. My little peg-leg pirate is being such a trooper, but each day I look at his paw and it is not shrinking or looking any different :( I am very sad.....I was hoping it to be a lick granuloma, but it has been lick free for almost a week now and it is not going away :( We go back to the Vet on 2/10 - He wants to see what it looks like lick free, he may have to drain it or if it's not a cyst, he will have to biopsy it :( :( PLEASE KEEP MY BABY IN YOUR PRAYERS I would simply die if anything bad were to come of this.... :cry8::cry8::cry8::cry8::cry8: |
He is young and healthy.. Maybe it is just a cyst. I'm sorry though. :( It is so stressful taking care of these babies. |
Awww :(. TJ is in my thoughts!! I hope it turns out to be just a little sumpthin' that will either go away, or is easily removed. All the best to the little fella!! |
I hope TJ will be okay and its just a cyst. I am in the same boat My Jewels has a bump on her eyelid. We go to the vet tomorrow |

Oh no....is it a cyst or sty or you just don't know yet??? TJ had a bump on his lid once. It took about 2 weeks till it went away. I kept putting warm compresses on it :( |
Prayers are coming your way. |
Sending lots of prayers your way that this will be nothing. P*U*S*H Pray Until Something Happens |
Keeping TJ in my thoughts and prayers...sorry to hear it's not improving yet. |
hopefully its nothing. did your vet take an aspirate of it before he wrapped it the first time? if not i'd definitely have him do it when you go back, and do a biopsy if he gets nothing back from the aspirate. |

He wanted me to down the cone, but there's no way TJ would allow that, so I got some guaze and loosly wraped it, so he doesn't lick it. |

If it does need to be biopsied you have two options. 1) the vet does a punch biopsy just to get a core sample of the tissue to send out to the lab. once analyzed you can leave it alone if its nothing, or remove it if its nothing. If its something that needs to be removed then clean margins need to be taken so a slightly bigger area will need to be taken. 2) if you are sure you want it off one way or the other then the vet forgoes the punch biopsy and just removes the mass with clean margins and sends the whole thing out to be biopsied. I think it depends on what you want to spend (2 separate procedures with two bills or 1 procedure) and how often you want TJ sedated. when we do a punch biopsy, we just sedate without full anesthesia and intubation (unless the animal is older and/or has health issues). when we do a mass removal, they go under full anesthesia with intubation. |

To me, it doesn't look infected, but he is to finish the Baytril pills, which would be the full 2 weeks and maybe beyond. Thanks for explaining what will happen...We will do whatever is the best route for TJ - money will NOT decide. My husband is actually quite upset and concerned. He wants me to bring TJ back this week. I am trying to explain that the Vet said 2 weeks :( And that the 2/10 appointment will be ok...But, honestly IDK :( What would you do    *** Attached is a photo, not sure if you can really see it - but so you have an idea... |
What's the word? |

...ok, seriously, I am scared, but the Vet doesn't know what it is. It has grown in the waiting period. We were last at the Vet on Tues. TJ finished the antib's yesterday, I am to still keep it clean and wrapped so TJ doesn't lick it. He is having the entire growth removed at 8 am on Friday 2/20 and it will be sent for pathology :( I am terrified :cry8::cry8::cry8::cry8::cry8: |

I would be scared also. Is the vet hopeful or totally lost? |
