Do i need to rush my morkie to the vet? Hello Yorkie lovers, I am new to yorkietalk. I have gotten a lot of great info from reading past posts, and I am hoping you can help me now. My Morkie,Pippin, just turned 2. something is wrong with him,but i don't know what. here are his symptoms: He has puked 7 times in the last hour or two he is drinking quite a bit of water his shoulders are hunched forward he is shaking and his eyes looked kind of glazed he is pretty lethargic He has always been very healthy,up to date on all of his shots, heartguard, etc. I would prefer not to rush him into the vet (isn't it always the middle of the night?) but i will if i need to. if anyone has experienced anything like this please, please help me. Pippin is my baby and if anything happened to him i wouldn't forgive myself :( oh, he is about 8lb. morkie (yorkie/maltese) thanks in advance~ |

It definitely sounds like he needs to be seen by a vet. Let us know how he's doing. |
Yes, I would take him in as soon as their office opens this morning. Call first, they may have a procedure for taking sick pets in a separate entrance. Poor baby! Please keep us updated. |
Hi, he hasn't vommited for awhile now. and he is sleeping on my lap. I am definately call my vet when they open and ask their advice. I am sure they will want to at least check him... He hasn't done anything like this before. Thanks for your quick replies and I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. I am hoping he just ate something bad and that it isn't something more serious. looking through threads i see a lot of people posting for liver shunt, pancreatis, and things like that. and he has quite a few of those same symptoms :( |
hope he is feeling better. |
How is you baby? What did the vet say? |
Did you get to the vet yet. Please let us know. |
Hello! Thank-you all for your concern. He is doing great today! He is running, playing, prancing, and eating. He hasen't vommited at all. I didn't end up taking him to the vet because he improved so dramatically. If he goes down hill at all this evening I will certainly get him there. One of my elderly "friends" has been feeding him table scraps and he must have gotten something too rich. Again, thank-you all so much! |

It may recur since it has happened once. Please look it up online and be very careful about what he is fed. You may need to tell the vet about it so that they can be watching him. |
