Weird Lump heeeeeelp! So My cousin was over today with her yorkie peanut she is about 13 weeks old. I noticed she has a strange movable little lump under her skin between her shoulder blades. It's so strange cuz it doesn't hurt her when I touch it's very movable and it feels kinda like fat except lt feels almost like detached from everything else. My cousin told me she never noticed it before and that peanut was vaccinated for her second distemper there last Monday. Any one have any idea what this could be? Sooo weird. |
it could be from the shots since it is so close to the injection area. Also, it could be a lipoma - fatty tumor -- although I don't know that they are that common in pups. Although I have read they are common in terriers -- the really weird thing is both of mine have one in the exact same place & they aren't related to each other, so it's not hereditary Here's a website about them - I know there is a lot on the internet about htem Lipomas, Or Fatty Lumps, In Dogs I think I would talk to the vet though, because I bet it has more to do with the vaccine injustions |
I'm sure it is from the vaccination. It's very common. Sometimes it can take weeks or even months to go away. |
You know I almost wanted to tell my cousin that it could be from the injections, but I wanted her to go see her vet. She told me she didn't notice it until a couple of days after. Should she take her pup back to the vet? |
My Piper had a little moveable bump like that after a tick bite. I took her to the vets and he said it was allergic reaction from the bite. The bump stayed for a few weeks but it never seemed to bother her. |

I notices a lump on Pixie's leg last year and it was pretty big and movable and didn't hurt her. She had had a shot the week before but they gave it to her in the other room so I wasn't sure where she got it. I called and they said to bring her in but it was where she had her shot. The vet confirmed it was from the shot and would go away. They said they don't charge for the visit as it happens a lot. |
are you sure he doesn't have a microchip? |

It's probably from the vaccinations but it could be a lipoma. Romeo had a lipoma removed from his stomach a few months ago. It will grow back because it was attached to his stomach lining and they could not get all of it or they would have cut the lining itself. Lipoma are fatty growths. But since vaccinations have been so recent I would still bet it's that. However, I would get it checked out just to be safe. Our little Romeo has so many health problems we don't take a chance on anything. He was born without a tear duct in one eye so we had a saliva gland moved up to become the tear duct so he could keep his eye. He has a liver problem and pancreatitis. We have to monitor what he eats and he can never eat anything with more than 20% protein. He has arthritis and his knee cap is loose in the joint. He has had 5 surgeries and countless trips to the vets and procedures I can't even begin to name. He will be 5 on April the 10th. But through everything he remains so sweet and happy and the light of our lives. And believe it or not one of his favorite places to go is the vet. I have learned more about vets and various types of vets that I never wanted to know. Who would have thought there were doggy Opthamologist out there! Thanks, Kathy Romeo and Bella's mom :aimeeyork |
