help my baby is sick!! :confused:My 2yr. old yorkie Lexie is having some problems that the vets can not figure out...she has had a few knee problems with her knee popping in and out but for the last 2 wks she has taken a turn for the worse. When she walks she is very off balance(almost like she is drunk) very weak, wobbly walk and also she is shaking just when sitting...not like painfull shaking but just a sway? Also when she has to go to the bathroom she can not hold her self up she just has a sway to her balance. I think she has a neurological problem but they ran a blood test and 2 x-rays and found nothing...what do I do next?? I am very scared that I am not doing all I can because the dr. dont know what to do. Again she is only 2 so I am worried. Any ideas would be great. THANKS!!! |
bumping this up for you...welcome and good luck |
Acting drunk, swaying like that definitely sound like neurological symptoms which are many times caused by liver problems in yorkies. I would have a Bile Acid Test run ASAP to rule this out first. It's relatively inexpensive, and if it comes back high, you know you need to concentrate on providing liver support. If it comes back completely normal, then you know you may be dealing with something else. |
New Member needs advice!!!!!! Sorry I can't help but I will bump this up maybe someone else has suggestions Sorry your baby not well! |

Have they suggested taking her to a neurologist and also test her for liver problems? I will keep her in my prayers. |
She definitely needs to have a bile acids test asap to check her liver function. |
has she gotten into something that could cause something like this flea stuff etc, something with a pesticide in it. |
