Oh poor baby,:( I got mine from MO. About a month ago, and that first week i took her to the vet to get her check and the next day or so I notice the cough. Its hard for me to see her like that I feel bad, she's eating and playing good. I just want her to be healthy, she hasen't been able to get her shots, and that worries me, the Vet said she should be fine, she has a vet appt this sat so I hope she's better by then. I hope your puppie gets better.:aimeeyork |
My Sophie who is seven months old went through both Kennel Cough and Pneumonia when I first got her. I took her to the vet for the Kennel Cough and the vet gave her an antibiotic but Sophie is a wild woman and would fight taking the meds. Well it turned into Pneumonia (insert my guilt here). I would make sure you keep an eye on your puppy, if she acts any different or slows down on eating I would call the vet. In my case Sophie was sleeping all the time and not eating (but was drinking). Sounds like you are watching her real well, hopefully she will get over her Kennel Cough soon. |
My little guy has kennel cough too... it's gotten better since we've been doing the humidifier with vicks, but he still coughs dails. Doesn't seem to bother him much though - cough, play play play, cough, play play play, all the time, lol. He's had it for a month and a half though, and we are waiting on the shots too, which is really too bad because we desperately want to get him out and socialize him so he can be a well-adjusted adult dog! I'm wondering... our neighbor has a very calm, well-behaved cairn terrier who is up to date on all his shots (though I would still double check by calling his vet just to be sure), and never leaves the house/fenced-in yard. Do you think it would be safe to let Nikko play with him possibly, inside our house? I just feel so bad for my little boy not getting much socialization... and bad for the neighbor's dog too actually - he could use a playmate, his owner isn't at home much. Lauren & Nikko |
When my little girl had the cough 2 months ago, I found that a little honey really help her throw. She'll be ok. Make sure she rest and drink a lot of water ( put a little chicken broth in water). Good luck |
I took Abby to be spayed 3 weeks ago, she had to stay over night at the vet, and now she has kennel cough. |
