Update on Ava
 
Thank you everyone for your concern for Ava and your support for me. It was a pretty scary night Tuesday night and we BOTH ended up on IVs for hydration!!! I am such a nervous nelly!

Ava's eye looks better today and she had a good night's sleep although she vomited up the eggs I gave her. Today she is very quiet and just staying right with me but she did eat and I am giving her nutircal. Her fecal test was negstive for Coccidia and so was the Parvo test. I am still awaiting the results of the blood test and the chemistry panel but Dr. Blake thinks this is all related to the vaccine she had last firday. She will not be getting any more vaccines!

I am also fine. Think it must have been a panic attack is all...I hope it doesn't ever happen again cuz it wasn't fun!

So glad to hear that you are feeling better. And that your baby is doing better. I am a worry wart big time. I was not able to eat but a few bites when Gus was in the hospital. I really let things get to me. I know I can say don't worry yourself sick because if it were me, I'd be the same way. I'll tell you want my husband told me,,, You need to take care of yourself and be strong for your furbaby and all others who depend on you and love you.

Yes, it was the last. I am not going to let them give her any more. As far as I am concerned she is allergic to them and it is life threatening so i will accept the consequences of not getting any more.

For a few days, I wasn't on as regular as I use to be so I didn't know there was anything wrong with Ava. :(

I hope that all of her tests come back good. Keep us updated since I know how much you love and care for all of your furbabies!!!

I didn't know that Ava was feeling bad. I missed the thread. I am so glad that she is feeling better. Keep us updated.

I hope you and Ava are feeling better. Panic attacks are no fun, I used to get them years ago. Daisy, Bear and I send lots of get well wishes. :Puppy:

She hasn't had a bowel movement in over 24 hours but she is eating....not sure whether to feed her the canned pupkin since the last BM was diarrhea. :confused:

Hi everyone...I'm new to this site. I have Cupie, who is a 3 pounder(6 yrs). I put her through shots twice and she was just too sick afterwards. I finally had my vet write a letter to our animal control and she is now exempt from any shots. She even got very sick from the parvo/distemper shot. She is too precious to loose. They say that even one shot covers them for life. She's a nipper so I keep the letter with us when we go on vacation with her. For some reason as soon as you tell someone she will nip, they just have to try and pet her. She's just too cute for her own good. Glad to hear you and your yorkie are ok.

Thank you for that. I also will have my vet write a letter and get a waiver of the need for rabies. I won't let any of mine have another vaccine.

I just saw this thread, I had no idea that Ava was sick. I hope she gets better soon! As for your panic attacks, I complete understand, I suffer from them as well. I hope that you are both better by the time you read this.

I, too, missed this and am glad to hear little Ava and you are better! It's amazing how quickly these little ones can become so ill and equally as amazing at how quickly they recover!!

You are all so sweet. I am fine....no more attacks....adn AVa is feeling okay but her eye is still blue. I am takng her to a specialist this coming week for an evaluation.

Kim, what ever has happened to dear sweet little Ava? I have been out of the loop for quite some time, been busy down here on the funny farm and I haven't had much "play" time. I must have missed the entire thread. What was that about a "blue" eye?

We've missed you Cindy but I know how busy you've been...Ava and I both ended up in the hospital on the same night...or early early morning actually. Ava had been having diarrhea and then in the middle of the night she woke me up crying and her eye was shut.

It was 3am and I wrapped her in a blanket and headed to the emergency vet. The vet diagnosed a corneal ulcer and I started feeling sick while at the vet and they had to call 911 so I got a ride in an ambulance to the hospital. They ran tests but all were normal so I now think it was a negative reaction to Prevacid. I had taken some at about I am cuz i had indigestion. I tend to be "drug sensitive so I won't take that again...lol

We had an awful time with the vet and they were very insensitive but I am going to an opthamologist this week. She has been getting drops in her eye for a week and a half now and it is much better but I wish it were healing faster.

i'm glad you and ava are doing better. i hope you don't have anymore attacks, and that ava's eye heals quickly!!!! that must have been so scary!
