Asthma? What is it? Need Help! Jambo has been having breathing attacks where it appears that he can't catch his breath and he is sniffing trying too. He has never had any nose discharge and I have taken him to the vet regarding the matter several times. He does not have collapsed trachea. It's driving me nuts because I hate seeing him like this. He also occasionally vomits yellow liquid which also can bring his breathing attacks. This sometimes happens once a few days in a row and sometimes nothing. Jambo is a year and 4 months old now. His vet gave me some famotidine and Chinese herbs ("Liver Happy"). What's worse is that my 10 month old girl Moshi Moshi has done the same thing 3 times in the last week. She's never had any issues before (just occasional reverse sneezing/honking when she gets too excited). I would love to hear advice or similar experiences from Y'ters. I really want to get to the bottom of this and it is very frustrating. |
It sounds like reverse sneezing to me. I've had several different toys breeds (and many yorkies) stay here as fosters and each of them sounds a little different with their reverse sneezing. I have found very gently rubbing their throat for a second usually stops it......Or, I will step outside with them, something about the change of environment seems to make them stop. Also, with an empty tummy it's not too unusual for a yorkie to vomit the yellow foamy bile in the mornings. You might try making certain they eat first thing in the morning and a little snack at night before bed has helped here. Hope this helps or you can get some answers for your peace of mind. |
was hoping for some more feedback. |
