Mojito's hind legs don't look right!!! I just noticed that when Mojito walks across the room his hind legs cross. I know it sounds weird. But when he walks his back legs look like they are not spaced apart enough. It's hard to explain but from the back he looks like he is walking like on of those "American Next Top Models". He never walked like this before! He is not in any pain and he runs without any problem it just looks funny. He is about 2 1/2 lbs and is 1 1/2 years old. Has this happen to anyone else? It is hard for me to explain. I have tried to talk a video of him walking to post it so you can see what I am talking about but every time I try he lays down. My vet said to give it a little time he might have hurt him self and if it doesn't get better bring him in. Please let me know if any of you have gone through this. |
I have not gone through this, but I can see where you'd be really concerned. I'm a little surprised your vet didn't want to investigate a possible injury further. I would want xrays to see if anything could be found. If he is compensating for some kind of injury, the problem w/ waiting is that 1) it might not ever heal properly and 2) his new, compensating gait could become permanent and/or result in constrictions, or strange muscle development etcetera. Did the vet palpate his legs all over? And test his range of mobility? If it truly has nothing to do with anything physical, then you'd have to start exploring neurological issues. I don't really have any answers for you, but I sure hope this resolves quickly for your baby - I hope it is nothing. Keep us updated. :) |

Some dogs hide pain really well. Even though he seems fine, I'd be a bit concerned that it does hurt. |
