Problems after Bladder Surgery Hi: My 5 year old male yorkie, Mango had surgery 3 weeks ago to remove a calcium oxyalate stone in his bladder. Ever since the surgery, when he goes out to pee, he will have one normal pee but then go around the yard for 10 minutes and lift his leg every couple of feet, as if to go more but nothing comes out. At first i thought this was from bladder irritation but it does not seem to be going away. I am very concerned about him. The vet said that most dog will stop doing this after a couple of days. We are going on four weeks now. Has anyone gone through a similar situation or have any suggestions? Please help, he is the love of my life |
We've never dealt with stones here, so I don't know, but if your vet can't help, I'd get a second opinion. |
Yes My little male had the same surgery for the same type of stone he did do this same thing, but it only lasted a week or two, i would deff take him back in and have him checked. |
He could still have a UTI...He needs to be checked for that, and hopefully they got all the stones... |
We just went through this about a month ago. Our little guy had 28 stones that were all removed...but he had the same problem before and after the surgery. I think it is just him actually. I would suggest getting a second opinion if your vet isn't willing to work with you! |
