Help, frustrated beyond belief don't know what it could be
 

Okay so we've had Dolce for over 2 weeks now, he seems to be throwing up at least every three days, with a little trace of blood in it. He had diarrhea when we first got him, took him to the emergency vet they did a parvo test on his fecal, came back negative. After the metro was done his stools hardened up again. We switched him to raw food and he threw up so we thought it was the food, we switched him back completely to orijen after a few days instead of feeding raw and orijen. Took him to our regular vet last week to get his 3rd shots, they did a fecal test for parasites and that came back negative. Now today he threw up it was mucousy, thick, chunky, quite a bit of pink. His stools started to become wet again. We called a different emergency vet that our breeder recomended and they said not to feed him anything except rice tomorrow and see if he throws up again.

I'm not sure what it could be, the breeder has never had an experience like this. Said it could be an ulcer, maybe he's really stressed because he doesn't like us (i don't think it's the case cause he follows us around and likes to cuddle), he even was kind of hinting that maybe we were beating him (i was kind of offended at that one) and the vets aren't being too helpful right now. Anyone have any ideas or a similar case like this?

forgot to mention, everytime he has diarhea his stomach makes a gurgling, squishy sound sometimes it sounds like wet farts. Usually has no appetite when his stomach makes those sounds. Lately he doesn't do much throughout the day, kinda just lays by our feet or on his favorite blanket. But after he throws up he eats again and plays like everything is normal and then he's fine for a few days again

The vet should be giving him something to help with the diarrhea and perhaps some iv fluid.I know canned pure pupmkin helps with regulating the digestive system so perhaps a bit of that if you could get him to eat it.
Don't be upset by what the breeder said ,your trying to do the best,
it could be just stress from new home,new foods some pups take awhile to adjust.

He might have eaten something that is now stuck. I would try a little 100% pumpkin canned and see if that helps move it along. If that doesn't work in a day or so bring him in for a tummy Xray.

PS. I would have had some words for that less than helpfull breeder!!!

:thumbup: He has quite a nerve to say this to you and it was completely uncalled for. And what's up with the Vets? I can't help you as I've never been through this but you've come to the right place. I agree with the other posters and there will more good advice from others. Keep us posted.

My TJ had this when he was a pup (13 weeks +)

It turned out to be IBD ~ He had an overgrowth of bacteria in his small intestines. We tried the Metro and it didn't help. We tried a one source protein dite (I picked Duck & Potato) and this sorta helped but not really. We did bloodwork and his folate levels very sky high, indicating the IBD and bacteria.

On another trial and error, the Vet suggested Tylan Powder. It work for some and not for others. It worked for TJ.

P.S. I do not miss those horrid noises....I thought TJ had a monster in his tummy, and then those glob of orange mucus poops :(

I too think you need to rest his tummy rest. I would feed some brown rice and chicken. No treats, etc....

The raw may had not agreed with him (right now). And I am not familar with Oregin, but it may be too rich for him.

TJ was eatting Innova at the time, which from his normal poops they were so stinky, I knew that food was just too rich for him.

When he feels better may try Natural Balance Duck/Potato
