Teeth pulled, now diahrrheia. . help Today Mia had her teeth pulled. I fed her a small soft meal when she came home. After that she was fine. She was shaking and seemed hungry so I gave her another small soft meal. Then she started with diarrheia. Wondering if I should give her Pepto Bismol? Any experience out there with suggestions? My vet is closed for the night. |
You can give a little pepto but it is also best to have contact with the vet when they open |
I don't give Pepto without the vets advice. |
I would not give pepto in this case without talking to your vet because it has NSAID properties and if she already had NSAIDs today, that might not be okay. Gastrointestinal issues are pretty normal after anesthesia. As long as she is getting better and her gums are pink and there is no blood in the stool, I wouldn't be too worried. |

We had a similar experience with our dog after he was put under for his neutering and teeth pulling. He had diarhea for about a day, but was fine after that. |
I hope your baby is doing better today. This is all good for me to read, since Abby is supposed to be spayed and having teeth pulled on Tuesday. What kind of soft meal did you feed her? I want to be prepared. Thanks in advance to anyone with suggestions. |

Thanks everyone. I think she is on the way to recovery. She hasn't had any more runny poos. They want me to keep her quiet for a week!!! No running, no outside. LOL this will be interesting. I decided to take a day off and stay on the couch with her. This is working so far. She keeps bringing me toys for "fetch" and looks so frustrated when I won't throw them. She is doing better. Thanks |
give her some rice and little chicken, rice is always good for diaherra.Give small portions |
