Bite broke 2bones My older Yorkie that is 2 years old bit through my little yorkie that only weighs 3 lbs. How come in our yorkies weight doesn't mean a thing ? I mean they never feel like they weigh much at all. Any way Ang bit her on her hind leg and bit through 2 metatarsal bones. She is in a soft cast now with a tongue depressor at the end for support . Everyonce in a while yo hear that tongue depressor tappin on the floor when she walks. She is blessed no infection has set in. Last night another Yorkie I own that is 2 weeks younger then Harmony and REese bit her on the back and wouldn't let go. Thank God that bite didn't do any damage physically. I need to toughen Harmony up some how she barks loudly but she hasn't been loud for over two weeks. I have noticed the louder you bark the less the others will bother you. |
If your dogs are going after one another, you need to keep them seperated before one ends up dead. They will fight to kill. That is a fact with terriers. It is your responsibility to keep them safe. This conversation has been repeated time after time on this list, please pay heed to it. |

I had not considered Angel being in heat and she was not going to play. Harmony walked too close to a treat she considered hers and went after her with a growl and bit her. Yeh I have to keep Harmony separated from the main three. What I am calling my main three right now is ,Angels daughter from her first litter, and my male who will be used to breed, but go figure my sick male with a liver shunt problem they will play with forcefully but will not go after him to hurt him. I believe it is because he will bark louder and longer at them to keep away. So I see the others backing away as if they are saying ," Look at this kid, uh let him play." |

MOst of the time my dogs have my undivided attention, and other then angel who has been at our house for 2 1/2 years claiming dominance to certain areas. For instance under my feet at my desk and under my bed with a treat, or directly next to my legs in my bed at night. She had welcomed the new ones as I advanced their presence into the home and around her to play, we would limit the time and areas they were allowed to go until she played with them. I would let them be sniffed as Angel had full reign of the house but I keep little ones in a very tall laundry basket by me as I attempt to potty train them. That way they can see you so they never feel all alone. It has worked for me. |
