Black spot on scrotum 1 Attachment(s) My little yorkie has a black spot on his scrotum... which has been there for a little awhile. I tried cleaning it, and removing a hard top layer of it (it was firm, like a potato chip). However, it hasn't gotten better. It's quite large... covering ~ 1/2 of his scrotum... Does anyone know what this is? Do I need to take him to the emergency room? Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! |
I have no clue what it is, but it looks serious enough to me...I'd take him to the vet. |
I agree I would get him in to the vet right away. It looks like it is painful and needs medicine. Hope he is ok |
wow.. I would take him to the vet too.. Doesn't look good.. Poor thing.. .Keep us posted.. Will say a prayer for you and him.. |

Bubba has one of those..exactly. I found something just like that on the tip of Bubba's nub when I bathed them yesterday. He's nine months and the vet sent a card in the mail saying he was due for a Bordatello shot? I thought he got them all in the series of 3 he went for when he was younger. Anyway I'm having it checked in a couple of days when he goes in. Please let me know what you find out. Good luck. |
Has anyone else noticed that when their little male gets rubbed on the belly it (scrotum) turns dark like that. My Harlan's does, then it goes back to the normal skin color. |
Harlan does that sometimes :aimeeyork:aimeeyorkThis may sound...uh...weird, but when Harlan gets rubbed on the belly, his scrotum "draws up" and turns black. I think it's because he may be getting "excited". When you stop rubbing him, it goes away, and his scrotum turns the normal color of his skin. Is that normal? If it is, that may be what your baby is doing. |
Rugburn Turns out the black spot is actually a rugburn. The vet said it was nothing to worry about, but gave us some antibiotics anyway to help clear it up in case. |

A RUG BURN???? Poor guy! All of my boys (for the past 35 years or so) have been neutered. If they don't have dangly parts, there's nothing to get rubbed - so I guess that's why I never considered it. At any rate, it looks like it would be painful (I know what my knees felt like!), so I hope the cream helps. |
Sorry, I can't help it lol. :D ;) What have you been doing to get "rug burns" on your knees? |
