Help! Tiny lost use of his back legs So I arrived home from work last night and found Tiny couldn't use his back legs, he wouldn't put any pressure on them when I tried to stand him up and he would sit with them pointed at funny angles when sat down. He wasn't whimpering in pain but just seemed really miserable and depressed. I rang the vetfone hotline on my insurance and they advised calling out the emergency vet. I was so worried thinking he had injured his spine! I took him to the vet and put him on the table and all of a sudden he was walking around like he was absolutely fine. The vet thinks it's maybe a strain and he was being a drama queen at home (me included as I'd called him out at midnight). He gave him a shot of painkiller and this morning Tiny is fine again but I've noticed that over the last few nights he seems to be very tired and doesn't seem to walk properly. Does anyone have any ideas as to what can be the matter???!!! |
:( that would scare me. How is he now ?? |
Awww... poor little baby! Did the vet take an x-ray? There could be a hair fracture or a dislocated disc... Where does he sleep? Can you watch him during the night? We'll pray that he gets healthy and happy very very soon again! |
awww poor baby, I hope he feels better soon. |
I don't mean to alarm you, but this can be a sign of AAI (anti-axial instability). A couple on here have much experience with it (Blue Boy Barber, BabyBear4Me). An xray needs to be done to see what is going on his in neck. If you vet doesn't take this seriously, go to another. |
