Anyone have experience with.... Atlanto-Axiel Subluxation w/Non-ambulatory Terta paresis? It's a genetic malformation of the first and second vertebrae. We picked up a foster on Sat. She is 4 months old and only weighs 1 1/2 lbs. We took her to a specialist today to have her looked at. He said surgery was the only possibility to help her out. She currently cannot walk. She however is in good spirits and loves to eat. He told us that this is common in Yorkies..so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this and whether anyone has had the surgery done.. She is going to Angell tomorrow in MA for a consultation and most likely surgery on Wed. Because hers is so severe and she's young and small none of this this in her favor..and the fact she's been more than a week with the injury is not good. It can be complicated by even a slight injury. Any information anyone can pass on would be appreciated and of course we will take all and any prayers for her. She is listed on Yorkies Inc. if you want to see her picture. I don't know how to resize. Thank you.... |
you should contact Bleu Boy Barber here on YT! She has a beautiful baby boy with this and is pretty knowledgable about it from what I have read.... good luck and bless you and your baby! |
THANK YOU!! I knew there was someone on here that had a pup with this...I sent her a PM...I hope she gets it soon :-) We really need to talk to someone who has dealt with this...this little girl is so severe the vet today told us not to move her and actually not to touch her at all because we could kill her.... Thank you for your prayers...she is such a sweet little thing..she survived a plane ride to get to us (we had no idea how serious it was) ...now she needs to survive surgery...and hopfully live a happy long life... |
