Aww - saying lots of prayers for Eddie's speedy recovery! Darn Mother Nature!!! These foxtails are in the same category as gnats, mosquitoes, and flies - why did God invent these things??? :D |
Ornamental Grasses I'm sorry to read about Eddie and hope he has a quick recovery. You've created some really wonderful videos of your adorable furbutts and it seems like they get to go lots of fun places with you. Are foxtails related in any way to ornamental grasses? I've got several varieties on my property and the top of one looks like the photo on one of the links. |
Ah, poor little Eddie! What a rotten end to some magnificient scenery! I just learned about Foxtail recently here in Colorado! I had never heard of it but it's pretty horrible! I will be praying that our Eddie will be OK! Mike, please keep us updated. |
I hope the vet get to it soon. Our Teddy got a foxtail in his nose and it caused swelling and cut off his breathing after a few days. He finally had surgery to remove it. That was two years ago and I hate foxtails and avoid them at all cost. Poor Eddie I sure hope he is OK. |
EDDIE!!! Sneeze it out lil buddy!! Wishing you the best! Hope all is resolved very soon. |
Poor Eddie. :(:aimeeyork I hope he doesn't have to be put under. Listen up, Eddie!! NO MORE sniffing those foxtails, it worries us parents too much and it could hurt you. |
awww Eddie and Mike. So sorry.... I hope everything is okay |

Thanks everybody. No real news yet. My vet encouraged a wait-and-see approach for a few more days. With no symptoms other than sneezing, he's not certain there's anything in there. And the "next step," a scoping and cleaning, is no guarantee. Yorkie noses are so tiny that the scope can't see all the nooks and crannies. And even flushing it out with saline is no guarantee. So that's three vets that have advised me to wait a little longer and see if the sneezing goes away. I'm just going to take it day by day. If he has any more serious sneezing episodes, I'm taking him in. I'll let everyone know. Thanks again for the concern. I'm hoping I'm overreacting. |

Gosh, Mike! I feel so bad for little Eddie and for you with all the worrying over this. I remember reading a year or two ago about foxtails and how dangerous they are. I'll say a prayer for Eddie and I hope that it is just a little irritation in his nose that is making him sneeze and there are no pieces of the foxtail in there. You are not over reacting at all...it is a scary deal and a concern. Hugs to you! I hope to read a positive update soon! I love adorable Eddie! |
Just checking in on Eddie! Hope all is well and want you to know we are keeping the little man in our prayers. Smoochies from Toto! :) |
