PLEASE someone help!!! |
anybody? please someone help me |
I wish I knew something to tell you...I'm sure someone will be post up to help you soon. Sorry for your baby.... |
thank you.. I tried reading to see if maybe I can figure it out.. but any type of worm can be coughed up.. vet's office opens at 9.. we'll see then.. worst part is, the bf hates of worms.. so I can't even let her on the bed:(:( |
Gosh...you must be so scared! I tried googling and didn't come up with much. I wonder if it's tapeworm, but I think they usually come out the butt. I will say a prayer for your little sweetheart and check back for an update. Hugs to you! Oh...did you save the worm to show your vet? Just put it in a jar in your fridge maybe? |
that would freak me out! I'd be more worried about the blood than the worm, but yeah... I really hope she's ok. Good Idea Connie, save the worm to show the vet... |
Yes I did save the worm.. but I put it in a ziplock bag.. Thanks you guys for your thoughts and prayers:) My vet opens at 9 so I'll be back on with an update as soon as I can.... I'm just praying to God it's not a heartworm |
Sexiixtc ….. it could be *round worms* check this website ……… Intestinal Worms in Dogs and Cats at ThePetCenter.com Also, if at all possible, try to get a stool sample to take into the Vet in the morning. Watch for your baby to poop and then put your hand in a sandwich baggy, pick up the poop and turn the bag over onto it - then put it into another ziploc. DON'T refrigerate - just set aside and take in to the Vet. HTHs ……… |
Does your vet have an emergency line? They can help you over the phone and tell you if it's an immediate emergency or not. |

I just wanted to say I hope she's ok! Camden had worms when we adopted her in April, but none that she coughed up. They all came out the other end, so I'm not sure about your situation. Please let us know if she's ok! Positive thoughts being sent her way!! |
Sounds like roundworms, and if they are heavily infected, they will throw them up. Blood is not unusual with this kind of parasite. They usually poop them out. BUT they can throw them up. It is not life threatening UNLESS untreated for a very long period of time. Dont worry, just get her to the vet for meds;) |
well it's tapeworms:( the vet was in surgeory and won't be out till 2pm, so that is when I have to take them back to get them treated |
Thank goodness you at least know what it is. I don't think tapeworm can be passed on to humans, so that's a good thing. You poor thing...did you get any sleep at all last night? *HUG* |
I am so thankful you found out what was wrong. Poor lil baby. Wish you the best @ the vets this evening. |

We can get it by petting them, not washing our hands afterwards, then touching our mouths... One of the eggs might be on their coat and can transfer toour hands.. and we may not be able to see it.. and that's how we get it. So needless to say, Kayah WILL NOT be going outside after the grass is cut ever again! ewwww! I didn't get to sleep till 4am, and I had to be up at 7.. so I'm a little exhausted.. but I'll manage.. Once I fell asleep, I kept having dreams about bugs.. ahhhh! I'm so scared of insects, you wouldn't believe! And even now, I feel like I have bugs crawling all over me:rolleyes: |
Mine have had them a couple of times from just injesting a flea. We have never had flea problem but its like when one has to stay over at the vets for some reason or another they come back with one or two on them. Tape worms just make you sick to see (or they do me) but can easily be treated. Glad it wasn't anything serious. I have had mine on heartworm protection all their lives and its like you can't protect them from everything. Be sure and wash their bedding real good too. |
new diagnosis: she ate a catepillar! lol it was the larvae that turns into a catepillar.. but non the less a catepillar...well better safe than sorry:rolleyes::) |
oh goodness... The things are little darlings eat. Glad she is going to be ok ! |
oh my girl, I just saw this, so glad that is nothing more serious:eek: poor baby, thank God that she has a mommy who cares:thumbup: |

Thank goodness it was JUST a catepillar!! lol Glad she & all at your house are going to be ok :) |
Hey I'm glad your baby is going to be ok! I read your 1st post the other night and was worried about what it could be. You mentioned praying it wasn't heart worms and that made me more nervous for you. I somehow missed this thread yesterday and for some reason I just remembered about your 1st post and had to come search for it. I'm glad it was just a catepillar and nothing more serious! lol of all the things she could find :p |
When I took my girls for a walk today, there were caterpillers everywhere! They sniffed them, but thank goodness they didn't eat any and now I will be hypervigilant that they don't! I'm so glad your baby is OK :) |
