Injured foot? Our little yorkie keeps licking her left front paw. I looked at the foot pads on that paw and compared it to the other right front, and she has licked all the surrounding hair off one of the pads. Also, that particular pad looks red and inflammed. What should I do to help her? If I try to touch it while she is licking it, she doesn't want me to and is very resistant. If I can get her to stop messing with it, she seems to forget about it. No limps or favortism to that foot on her part. |
Hmmm, hard to say what's going on here. The signs of infection are redness, pain, heat, and swelling - and it sounds like you at least have some of these (if not all). I would probably apply antibiotic ointment for now and go to the vet in the morning. Foot infections can get really bad, so you may want get this looked at pretty quickly. :) |
