There is a plush yorkie made by a German manufacturer and I am trying to get the stuffed yorkie because it has it's tongue and looks just like Hefner. I must be common if the stuffed yorkies come that way. :p

My Turbo who is a rescue has his tongue hanging out all the time. It is as a result of having his jaw broken as a puppy and a gross deformity of his lower jaw. It is not common for yorkies to have their tongue hanging out, it is usually as a result of poor jaw alignment. Thankfully it isn't harmful to them at all so they just look cute or in Turbo's case goofy!!!!

I think it's so cute when they sleep with their tongues sticking out a little. Gus did this often when he was little but not too much anymore.

It is a Yorkie thing and a lot of them grow out of it as adults. I think it is adorable! My Mom has an adult with an underbite so Brandy has her toungue out quite a bit, it totally cracks me up!

Duckie, our female yorkie, has her tongue hanging out the majority of the time. We thought it might be because she still has baby teeth and her tongue slips out more easily.

Yes my little miko does this too. I actually picked him out of the litter because of the tongue thing. I thought it was so cute and even now, he's one and he still does it now and then. I just love it!

Honey's tounge is always sticking out... It's soo cute. I think it's because he has a super long tongue.

Awww... I've had my yorkie for just under a month and she does this too! I thought it was because she had no bottom front teeth when she was losing her baby teeth, but now that all the adult teeth are in she still does it (I think because her tongue is sooo long). I love it because she does it when she's tired or sleeping. I hope she doesn't outgrow it :p

My charlie does the same thing he will sleep with it out. He also uses it to get his way. Yorkies are just so darn cute and lovable. :aimeeyork

beatle bailey does the same thing she smiles and sticks her tongue out or just walks around the house with it hanging out it is very cute im wondering if it is a yorkie thing??

I've heard the same think. Has anyone hear heard of Mr. Winkle? Go to www.mrwinkle.com. He is sooo cute. His tongue sticks out all the time and it's because it's too large for his mouth.

Oh, man, it's 2 a.m., everyone in the house is sleeping, and I clicked on your URL to hear Mr. Winkle barking. Eddie went ballistic, started barking and running up and down the hall. I could hear grumbling from my wife in one room and her mother in law in another. Too funny.

As for tongues hanging out, we had a chihuahua that got 7 teeth pulled and his tongue started hanging out. Sounds like some yorkies do it naturally, though. Eddie's doesn't.
