Bloody watery stools?? Hi, we have two yorkies, a 5 year old male named Toto and a 3 month old female who does not officially have a name yet but is commonly called "la petite" (the little one in French!) The little one usually poo's during the night on a newspaper and the older one sometimes regressed in his good behavior since we brought in the little one and has started peeing and pooing in the house as well. This morning we woked up and found the usual pooh from the little one but also found a large, droppy, reddish stain (looks like blood with water) on the floor. We don't know where it came from? Was it from the male? The baby? Is it blood or salsa as my husband thinks? I only noticed the little one tending to sit on her butt a lot but don't know if this has anything to do with it. Does anyone know something about this? Can anyone help? Please ask me more details if you need them. Thanks a lot! |
Welcome to YT. Well, you could inspect the little one's bottom for irritation and see if anything looks red or inflamed - if it does, you can put some cortisone cream or diaper cream on it. But, it's really tough to say what's happening here. It could be just a slight, acute irritation if there was just a tiny, isolated, bright drip. I guess I would keep a very close eye on things - watch appetite, hydration, digestion, color of gums - and go from there. But, if the 3 mth old has very bad, loose stools today - I'd then get her in asap bc young pups can go down quickly. |
And they get dehydrated quickly. I experienced this with mine, and it turned out he had HGE - bad stuff, and he had to spend the night at the hospital. |
