Possible Lung Tumor? I am posting to see if anyone has been through this with their yorkie. My cousin is frantic about her male yorkie who is very healthy, happy and fit. Just lately he has been having a cough and she decided to bring him in for a checkup. When he went to the vet, he checked out great and it seemed like a simple case of a narrowed trachea. But the vet said just case he wanted to do some blood work and an xray. The bloodwork came out perfect but he has a shadow on his xray near his lung. The vet said it was a possible tumor that looks about 6 months in the making. He said if left unattended he will have only 6 months to live. He said even if it's benign it should be removed. She is devastated! I thought I would come here to get some advice or thoughts and hopefully someone can share an experience with hope. We have all been so upset and have been searching the internet and asking all our dog owner friends for some insight. She is getting a second opinion and has an appointment for a radiologist to get a CatScan next week. Please say prayers for our little guy :hands: |
:(:(:( That's scary ....ALL The best to your cousin and I hope it's nothing and if it is a tumor - they can treat it |
Thank You red98vett we are all upset over here about her baby. I'm hoping someone here can offer us some advice or suggestions about this condition because as a family of dog servants, we are clueless :confused:about this diagnosis. It is scary :(. BTW your yorkies are so beautiful :animal36 :D |
I hope it's benign! How scary:eek: Definitely tell her to get a second opinion. It never hurts. If I had done that with my Starr when she had a blockage, she might be alive today. We didn't have much money, but I could have sold something and I'll always feel guilty about that:( Anyway, thoughts and prayers headed up for the little guy:hands:  |
Terrible news for your poor cousin. Good luck to him...:hands: |
Thanks so much for all your blessings and best wishes. Our whole family is scared for this little boy. I am so very sorry for your loss LunasMomma. Was the blockage heart or lung related? How devastating. Can it really be this quickly with a dog? I know my cousin will completely fall apart if anything should happen to this little guy, which is why I have been doing so much reaching out onto different forums for guidance and maybe finding someone who has had a similar experience. The part that freaks us out is that even if it is benign the Vet is recommending that the baby have surgery to remove it anyway, I wish we could understand this a little better. |
