I Am Freaking Out Please Help! So i came home today from work, and ofcourse first things first. I see my female baby yorkie to see how she's doing. She is only 5-6 weeks old. Very healthy, playful and active. Today, as i picked up to kiss her, i notice that next to her private she has a bump. Right next to her thing (where she pee's). I called emergency and explained what i thought it could be. And the lady from emergency said to just take her tomorrow to my vet. My question is, did anyone go through this experience. And what could that possibly be? Any ideas? Please help me out.Thank you :(:mad: |
Inquinal hernia. |
yes hernia Do not be too concerned my Mia has one on both sides and the vet says nothing to worry about I would trust my own life to my vet so no worries |

Woah...you have a pup that is only 5-6 weeks old!?!? That is WAY to early for a puppy--ANY puppy--to have been placed by a breeder. Most reputable breeders agree that 12 weeks is the ideal age. Also, not sure where South Beach is, but early placement is actually ILLEGAL in many states. At this point, I would have to agree with the above post(s)--I would take this little one to the vet ASAP. Also as mentioned, what you are describing very well sounds like it could be a hernia. |
ok... i will assume she was born in your house??? Because 5 to 6 weeks old is very VERY very early to take them home.... i would also think it is ilegal.. You probably saw an hernia and this is not a big deal, if it is still there when you bring her to get spayed they will fix it.... Wow.... i am hoping this baby was born in your home.... Good luck. |

5-6 weeks is WAY too young to let a pup go. How sad. :( |
Thank you Ladies for the advice & Help. I will def. Take her to the vet today at 2pm. Yeah, i thought she was to young too, when i got my first yorkie he was 10-12 weeks old. My second yorkie (female which is 6 weeks old or so) She will be 2 months in about 10 days. I got her also from a breeder. For being so young she is still very active, eats well on her own. Plays and sleeps alot. There is nothing wrong with her, except for this bump. If its hernia, do they need to remove it ? or a surgery ? |

A lot of times hernias are repaired the same time as a spay. |
Hi ... so first of all I wanted to say .... 'I hope your Baby will be alright' And then 5 weeks is to early to be at your home all alone all day .... This is not right ..... the poor Baby ..... :( |
UPDATE: I saw 2 vets today. The 1st vet said that was normal. I forgot what she called it, but she said it happens to female dogs as they grow. (Weird) The second vet, told me that she is too young to tell if its a hernia or not. He said to just keep an eye on her to see if it grows or if she feels sick or anything is wrong. But as of right now, that shouldn't be a problem- The vet said. ------------------------------------------------------- As for her being alone all day as someone mention, ......she is not ! If i leave a couple of hours that would be it. I spend 90% of the week with them. My yorkies go with me EVERYWHERE, except when i have to step out for work, which is once or twice a week for a few hours. Other then that, they are been taken care of ALL Day, they are with me every second, every hour and every day! My puppies are extremely spoiled, with love, attention & material things as well. I also understand 5-6 weeks is too young, and that is why im 100% more cautious with her. But other then her age, she is EXTREMELY smart. She already understands her name, she listens when i tell her to sit, and if she does something wrong she immediately goes against the wall, as i once punished her like that for doing the wrong thing. Also when we are watching tv in bed, and she is all cuddled up in my chest, she will wake up, cry to me once just so i can get her to the floor, for her too pee.... Is this normal in a 6 week old puppy ? Because i am amazed. |
Is it green and is it about the size of a pimple? |
No it is not Green, and it is not a pimple, it is a bump! it is between her leg and private part. |
Welcome to YT! I hope your baby gets better. Sounds like she is very spoiled and very much loved. :) |
