He's in the hospitle recovering from a motorcycle accident that he and his 8-yearold daughter had. He is not doing well. |

Wow that was nice of him. I'm glad to hear that he takes care of his dogs. Why didn't he want them any longer? |

Wow. that's not good, who is caring for the rest of the dogs? The digestive problem might have been caused they the sudden change in food rather than the brand of food. when changing foods you need to do it gradually. |
OP, you're in good hands with JeanieK's advice. Any luck on a vet? |
No! no luck! everyone closed... I don't even know how to pay for this. |
How is he doing? |
I havn't switched his dog food He was feeding Purina no that's what he told me to feed him |

Does the vet have an answering machine that picks up when you call? All the vets around here, state what you should do if it's after hours. |
They would take me I think. |

I've left YorkieTalk online instead of logging in when I want to check the board. Yes my parents said this was my deal so I was resopsible. They gave me some money to start out. But it didn't last long. Their not so hot on dogs either. I am real. Stop saying I'm not. I've been trying to contact all of the vets around me. |

This could be related to Beneful dog food. My daughter bought a bag at Safeway when she was in a pinch (NOT her usual brand) and it was infested with grain mites. Google "Beneful grain mites" and you will get tons of hits about this, as well as toxic mold issues, that have been ongoing for quite some time. This is my reply from Purina: Thank you for contacting Nestlé Purina PetCare Company. We apologize for your daughter's disappointing experience with our product. Please know that we follow extensive procedures at our manufacturing plants to ensure that our products are produced under stringent sanitation rules. During the processing of our products, all ingredients are subjected to temperatures and pressures that render them virtually sterile. Although our pet foods products are packed free of insects, they may gain entrance after manufacturing through the seams of the packaging material. These insects may even bore a hole in the package to get to the contents. These types of insects can also infest grain products such as flour, cereal and cake mixes. For this reason, it is difficult to determine exactly where these insects may have gained entry into the product. We would not expect this type of infestation to cause any health problems in pets, as these insects are not parasitic. Your concerns are important to us; however we would need to discuss this matter directly with your daughter. Please have her contact our Office of Consumer Affairs directly at 1-800-778-7462 weekdays between 7AM to 7PM CST. One of our Pet Advisors will be available to discuss her situation. Please provide the Pet Advisor with the reference number that appears in the subject line of this e-mail. We look forward to hearing from her. |

You've never said how old these yorkies are. Do your parents allow them to be in the house? Are they house broken? |

(I am summarizing, not posting anything personal or editorializing in this post). - the OP is 15 yo has a very very ill pup - her parents paid for the pup, but they do not like dogs - she had planned to start a breeding program in a home where her parents do not like dogs, and will not assist with vet fees/access - these pups and any litters will live in a home where they are not safe (meds have been flushed down toilet) - her aunt breeds dogs, but appears not available to help with care or vet advice - the breeder/gift-giver is now in the hospital and not available. - no vet in the state of MO has an answering service. |
Please help me! I think my Yorkie will die Quote:
Is there anyway that I can help you? PM me if you want too. |
if you are not taking your dog to the vet.. you need to at least stop giving the beneful.. try some healthy food from the fridge..chicken is great.. canned tuna.. i have given pepto bismol..to my dogs after they were poisoned.. but only one small dose.. your dog is suffering and you need to call someone to help you.. but stop the beneful.. i think a rescue would be best if you cannot help him.. for whatever reason.. im sure you love him.. but he needs help immediately..bleeding internally is serious. dont get angry.. just get some help from someone close to you.. not on yorkietalk:animal-pa |

I strongly suggest that this or these Yorkies be turned over to a reputable Yorkie rescue. Let me know if this is something you would be willing to do and I will help you anyway I can. Elaine |

Funny jow different people get different pictures. she is 15 She loves dogs her parents do not love dogs she was all excited about the idea of raising puppies. (at 15 that can seem pretty exciting) she as never had a dog so was not aware that animals can get sick and require costly dr visits. she came her hoping to find people that share her passion for animals. She isr a young teen that comes from a struggling family. A friend or aquaintence, maybe even employer was in an accident and gave her his dogs to care for. Her parent let her have the dogs, but made it clear that they were completely her responsibility. Now one of the dogs is sick and she cannot afford the vet care. She is only 15 and has no way of getting care for the animal without the help of an adult. |
