Wondering why my yorki shakes ? Hi! My yorkie has been shaking terribly after we got back from the vet. He got the ddhp series 1 of 2 and bordetella injection series 1 of 2 and the corona series 1 of 2. I do not know the reason for this shaking because the vet said to only watch out for severe facial swelling.. so I was wondering if anybody can tell me the reason for this severe shaking.. Thank you!!! |
How old is he? Check to see if his gums are pink. If they are not pink and are white instead, call your vet immediately - there may be a reaction occuring even without the facial swelling. |
Also, give some Nutrical, karo syrup, honey, pancake syrup, or even straight sugar right away. |
Next time dont let your vet give that many shots at once, the rule is normally no more than 2 shots in one visit in small breed dogs. |
my vet only gives a half shot if baby is small.. even if I go every two or three weeks, and never gives the last shot and a rabies on the same day..never ever.. I pay up front and go back two weeks later for the rabies.. Never let them give so many.. hope you called the vet.. and please get back to us... praying all is ok.. anne |

I hope he or she is OK. |
I guess you're offline - hopefully you called the vet. Update when you can - I'm hoping for the best here! :) Just wanted to add - for my Marcel (who was small), my vet gave only 1 shot per visit and was very firm on spacing them apart. Also, personally - I only get core vaccines for my dogs - meaning: rabies, distemper, parvo. ALL other vaccines are non-core and should be given only with great consideration and if the risk of disease truly outweighs the risk of the vaccine. I can't think of ANY reason this vet gave Corona - is this pup less than 8 weeks old? Here is a vaccine guide: http://www.critteradvocacy.org/Canin...0Guidlines.htm |
