Hi Little Leo!! I live in the bay area too!! My little Brooke had ringworm and it is not a fun thing to get rid of!! I hope this isn't what Leo has but if it is you can always PM me and I will try and help!! Good Luck!! |
i used to get ringworms all the time in high school wrestling. try blue star oinment with a gauze or bandaid over it for a few days. works like a charm. burns like hell though if the worm is bright red and tight circle. |

You should have her vet decide what medicine is best to treat the mark...but you and your family need to practice strict handwashing and not touch the area if possible, cover it....b/c the fungus can spread to humans very very easily and it itches terribly. Good luck! |

twice a day...prescription.. but it might not be good to use the blue star cream if it burns..dogs are not people you know? shampoo with high sulfur content is the treatment my vet uses.. |
We just went through a scare that my first vet thought it was ringworm but fortunately it was not. She told me that it would probably take about 3 mos to to treat and be cleared. Mainly cause it is very contagious. You have to be very careful and thoroughly clean surfaces that you might have spread the fungus to. I have read that the dips are really bad smelling and not very pleasant. I hope that your vet will find that it is not ringworm. Good luck. |
oops also.. dogs lick their selves and the ointment might be toxic... and bandaids dont stick...to dogs:) |
The vet needs to determine if it is indeed ringworm or something else like hot spots. If it is ringworm, you are in for a chore! EVERYTHING needs to be bleached down, the dog will need baths with special shampoos and will probably need to be put on meds. Ringworm spores get in the air and treatment will last a few weeks. One question...do you have cats? |
