WARNING about flea collars! My friend called me a few minutes ago screaming about her Yorkie foaming at the mouth, vomitting and pooping on herself. I told her to rush her to the vets after finding out she had just put a flea coillar on her 2 hours prior to the start these symptoms. After cutting the flea collar off and rushing to the vets, we did find out her furbaby had a serious reaction to the flea collar. The collar put her dog into a seizure from an allergic reaction. The vet did give her 2 different shots to help with the allergic reaction and also gave her fluids to flush her system. Please be very careful with flea collars I don't recommend using them at all! |
When I frist got my little one I put a flea coller on her and she started scratched and I took it off and she is now 2 and she never had anothr one on. I hope her little one is feeling better. |
Thanks for the reminder. I have known about this for years with my cats. I would never use a flea collar. They ought to be outlawed IMO |

Thanks for posting this - is she all okay now? I'm assuming from your post that she is and I hope so! How scary. Flea collars can be so scary and luckily, we don't really worry much about fleas here in AZ. Do you know if her baby got the collar IN her mouth - or was this *just* from being solely on the neck? I never know what to do when we go back to visit family in MN where there are ticks/fleas - and this is so scary. |
