Another Update on Baby Zoey After 6 visits to the vets office, I finally insisted that she see my vet! Turns out the poor baby has swelling on her spine! I was so upset because no one was listening to me when I would describe her symptoms: 1.. She would walk like Eyeore from Winnie the Pooh 2.. She would cry and whimper if she had to pick something up with her mouth 3. She would hide in my closet and tremble, shake and whimper 4.. her eyes had a glazey and teary look Well they gave her a cortisone shot and she is on Prednisone for 7 days twice a day. So far she is doing wonderful! She is standing straighter and walking with her little bounce. She is playing, shaking her head and rolling all over the rugs. The vet said she should be all better by next week, if not they will take x-rays to see what else is going on. I so glad to have my baby back.:) |
I'm glad she's doing well. I hope it keeps on going well. I would be aggravated with the other vets. |
Poor baby.Glad you were finally able to get an answer. |
I'd be miffed :( poor baby, hope she will feel better soon ! |
The cortisone shot will take away the pain temporarly but not the cause. I do hope they find the problem and take care of that. Poor little munch doesn't deserve this. |
Oh my gosh, poor honey! Are they thinking a slipped disk? That's what comes to mind... |
I am glad Zoey is feeling better. |
I'm so glad you got answers and she is feeling better. I would suggest you limit her exercise. The prednisone gives a false sense of well being and they can injure themselves further. This happened with my daughter's yorkie. After the prednisone, Kirby seemed fine and they didn't keep him quiet as the vet told them. He ended up with a ruptured disc that took around 8 weeks to recover from. He had to be kept in a cat crate to limit movement. I don't mean to sound like I'm telling you what to do, but reading your post made me think of Kirby. Best wishes! |
RE: Update on Baby Zoey I am so glad to hear that they finally figured it out! :) :aimeeyork |
