Please say a prayer for Murphy today. Murphy began vomiting day before yesterday in the afternoon. Took him to the vet yesterday and he spent the day receiving fluids. His blood work was just fine (a few things elevated because of dehydration). The x-ray showed a foreign object in his stomach. They allowed us to bring him home last night because being at home is less stressful. Murphy is 2 years old. He will go back this morning and they are going to try a barium x-ray hoping the barium will flush whatever it is out. If not they will be going to do surgery and remove the object. As he is in the back yard and all over the house I have no idea what he swallowed. Thank you for prayers and I will give an update this afternoon.... Jannh |
My well wishes are with you all. |
Prayer's coming Murphy's way. Hope all will be fine and he passes this thing today on his own. |
Keeping little Murphy in my prayers. I hope things pass out well ;) |
Keeping Murphy in my prayers I hope it passes |
Thank you for prayers. They could not get Murphy to pass anything so they went in and looked. Nothing there..... His stomach and intestines were very irritated and red. Also gall bladder irritated. I might get to bring him home later this evening or in the morning. Depends on how awake he is. Meds for digestion problems. Just nice to know there are no growths or twists anywhere. They said his recovery will be just like the girls were when we had them spayed except he will be on baby food and pedialyte for about a week with some water added on the third day. Thanks again, Jannh |
Jannh, I will continue to pray for Murphy, I hope he gets better soon. |
Just seeing this and I'm sorry he had to go through all of that. I can't imagine what would have caused it. Sending prayers that he will be well very soon, though.:) |
Poor baby. Glad he is coming home. |
I'm so glad that Murphy is OK, but what was "the foreign object" that showed up on the xray?? |
They have no idea what was going on with the x-ray. I spoke to the surgeon and he said if Murphy were a puppy he would have thought he had parvo by the looks of the inflamation to the stomach and intestine. He drank 4 oz. of pedialyte one tablespoonful at a time and this morning ate a small jar of baby chicken mixed with pedialyte. WE ARE NOW ON THE MEND but have no idea what happened so that we might prevent it from happening again. Maybe he ate a bug or spider or something in the back yard. I also have 2 girls and they are just fine so whatever he did he did it on his own. Thanks so much for caring. Jannh |
