Scooter's Neuter Today For those who don't know (or remember) Scooter had surgery 3 months ago to repair a defect in his heart. His follow up cardiac echo showed complete resolution and he was pronounced safe for anesthesia.:yay_jump: Well, today is the day, finally. He goes in this morning for his neuter, two baby canine teeth removal, microchipping and nail trim. They are also going to get a urine sample to follow up on his elevated BUN and ALP from the past bloodwork. He might have a few of the molars that need to come out also, but I found him chewing on one yesterday, so that's one less tooth for the vet. :tongue4 Thank you to those who have been asking about Scooter and to those who have answered my many questions and concerns regarding his bloodwork, etc.:yorkietal I'm saying my prayers and keeping my fingers crossed :xfingers: but I am still nervous (just like everyone else who has had to leave their furbaby for a procedure). |
:hands::hands: Prayers for both you and Scooter . :hands::hands: |
Thank you Shirlblack. We are on our way right now..... |
Thoughts, hugs, and prayers today for you and Scooter. Will be looking for updates. Joanne |
Both You and Scooter are in my thoughts and prayers today. I went through this with two of my babies last one week ago Monday. I know you must be even more of a wreck than I was because of his past heart problem. Keep us posted |
My prayers are with you and Scooter. Please keep us posted. |
Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes. They really helped us!!!!!!!!!!! The vet called me at 9:30 and said that they were all done!!! He is now neutered, nail clipped, microchipped and urine done. He is starting to wake up and trying to stand. They also pulled 7 teeth, 4 canines and 3 molars). The urinalysis showed that his specific gravity was good so he is concentrating urine. No kidney issues :D This is what I was hoping for since his bloodwork was wacky earlier. I am so relieved. Now the struggle begins to keep him quiet and not lick his incision...any tips to help on this?? |
My boys did really good the first night. They laid around and slept. The next day they thought things were back to normal and wanted to go full speed ahead. I had to put their crates in the dining room away from my other two for a couple of days. It helped to just let one out to potty, etc.. at a time. My vet gave the boys a shot to keep them from itching around the stiches. It worked wonders. They didn't ever bother them after the shot. Good Luck! I'm glad he is doing fine!! |
Scooter is home and doing great!!!! |
I'm so relieved that everything is A-okay. Sounds like Scooter is a healthy little boy. What a relief this all must be for you. Good luck in keeping him still. It's a challenge. |

Now you get to just sit back and enjoy Scooter :D |
He is doing very well today considering he had the teeth removed, too. He seems to be alittle uncomfortable this afternoon so I just layed down on the bed with him for awhile. He has energy, eating and drinking fine. |
So happy Scooter is home and doing well. |
:bravo::bravo:Great News! Glad to hear Scooter is doing good!! |
