Ms. Sneezy! Hey everyone- I'm new and have a question! My little yorkie, Bella, has been sneezing since sunday. It has been getting worse, especially today. It also sounds as though she is doing the "reverse sneeze". Her appetite and activity hasn't really been affected. I am just worried because she has never had these issues. Any input or advice?? thanks!:animal-pa |
Hi and WELCOME :D! Since there is sneezing present - and it's getting worse, if it were me - I'd get her to the vet. Anytime something worsens like that, it's a sign to me that I really do need to get in to the vet bc it probably will not resolve on it's own. Is she a young puppy? If so, it's even that much more important to get her in asap. :) |
hey, thanks! She isn't a puppy..she is 3. |
You're welcome! Btw, you don't think she got something lodged in her nose or anything do you? That's one other thought I had - is she pawing at it or anything, any swelling? |
hmm..it's a thought, but I don't think so. No swelling and she doesn't seem to be irritated by anything. I think I am just going to take her to the vet tomorrow if she doesn't seem better! I gave her a vet recommended dose of Benadryl and now she seems a little more comfortable..and drowsy! thanks again! |
Does she have a fever? If not, it could be allergies. Most people worry about food allergies, but inhalant allergies are far more common. Take her temperature. Normal rectal temperature is 100.5-102.5. If she's running a fever, you'll need to take her to your vet tomorrow. |
