Is being hungry too long causing him to throw up? I have a 8month old baby and I've noticed that every once in a while he throws up on am empty stomach - just bile. I feed him twice a day on a regular schedule, so I'm not sure what's wrong. He is on a raw food diet and ends up eating and drinking normal amounts the rest of the day. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated. |
Yes. They sometimes throw up with an empty stomach. Depending on when it is happening, I would either split the meals up (3 instead of 2) or give snacks.:) |
Definatley can be casued by an empty tummy. I give mine a little snack before bed to prevent that. |
my tink does that too! I let her eat whenever she wants to, it helps! I thought it was only her:rolleyes: |
bile Yes..if it is in the morning, give him a bedtime snack..mine eat several bites of chicken..if it is during the day, give him a noon time snack..also, I find the smaller Yorkies do better over a life time if the diet is several small meals per day instead of one or two.. |
Sammy throws up yellow stuff about once every 2 weeks... usually on my pillow in the morning! (Like this morning... oh what fun) Anyway, yes it's because their stomach is empty. Mine get kibble, canned and home cooked and I'm finding it happens more after she gets canned food for dinner the night before. I'm going to try adding rice to their food and see if that helps it stay in her stomach longer. Snacks before bed do help! |
Tyke does that too. If we aren't home to feed him at night until later, then he throws up a few hours later. Now if neither of my parents are home on time and my brothers are practices, we get our neighbor or someone to come and feed the big guy :) I must say, he is VERY good at telling us to feed him...he stands at his bowl and whines and scratches at the bowl...he gets his night feeding at 6pm and he start about 5:30 lol :p Bubba can't afford to be late on a feeding. I don't know if this is common but when we were trying to get him on a schedule we found if he didnt have anything in his dish by 6 at night, then he would get lethargic and have no energy at all. In the morning I have to have food in his dish by 9am or he gets the same way. Makes an awfully good alarm clock for me to get up to work with the kiddies at the preschool :) Like clock work he has me up at 8...can't get too mad when I wake up and look at him sitting there, cocking his head at me, with his lil ears up...makes my heart melt everytime :D |
