the Squirts Hey Guys - My Yorkie has has the squirts all week. She was at a new dog sitter for two weeks and started this a few days after she got home. We have been to the vet and had stool tests run which came back negative for parasites. The vet gave me some antibiotics. She is her usual self, however, only eating chicken at the moment and treats (not shocking as she loves treats). The rest of her activities are all normal. She goes for her walks, plays and chews her chew toys. She is usually fine when she comes back from the dog-sitter, but since this is a new one maybe a little residual nerves. The dog sitter is great and of course we went out to interview her before her visit. Anyone have similar issues? Usually this kind of thing will pass in a few days, but this is going on a week. thanks Kinsey |
Perhaps she ate something that upset her tummy. You could add boiled rice to her diet as well as the chicken. |
Did they check for giardia? Often, they need to check at least twice for giardia - as it is notorious for hiding under scope. Does she have access to new food there? Could she be eating poo? |
Hi Guys - Best I can figure is she ate something. They did check for giardia and it came back negative. She throws her nose in the air for the chicken and rice, and just chicken in her bowl, but will eat when handfed - yes, a little spoiled I know. Yesterday no poo at all so it has been 24 hours with no squirts or poo. She is still going pee and drinking so that I good. I am hoping whatever was in her system is gone. I will see if she leave me any gifts while I am at work. Kind of bad when you hope for a nice poop to be left on the floor. Thanks for the info and support. Kinsey |
