Question on recovery from surgery Molly had surgery for luxating patella today. She is 11 months old and she is very active. I really liked the orth. surgeon that we took her to. My only worry is his after surgery advice. From what I have read most recommend that you confine your puppy and keep them quiet during recovery. Our surgeon said to not confine her, and to let her play with our 7 month old chorkie puppy. He said the exercise will do her good and to distract them with treats if they get too rowdy. I am afraid she will not heal properly. I even went and bought a playpen for her to be in so she wouldn't feel so caged in. So what is the correct thing to do? I am really confused. By the way, her surgery went well, and she is coming home tomorrow. |
I'm no expert w/ LP recovery, but I've always heard strict confinement for the first part. Hang tight, others will chime in. :) |
